The FP1E is Aqara’s answer to everyone who liked the FP2 but wanted Zigbee and a lower price. It is a single-zone sensor: one room, one occupancy state. What you give up in zones you get back in simplicity, because it pairs directly with Zigbee2MQTT or ZHA and shows up as a clean presence entity with no app account required after setup.
The standout feature is what Aqara calls AI spatial learning. Instead of making you tune sensitivity sliders until the false triggers stop, the FP1E learns the room over its first day or two and filters out things like curtains and robot vacuums by itself. In our experience it gets to a stable state faster than any manually tuned Tuya unit.
Range is about 6 meters, which covers a normal bedroom or office with ease. There is no lux sensor on board, so pair it with a cheap illuminance sensor if your light automations need brightness data. On AliExpress the official Aqara store carries it and it goes on sale often.
